where are you?

Fork Ridge Trail: Great Smoky Mountains NP

"You can't know who you are until
you know where you are."

- Wendell Berry, writer, poet, essayist, Kentucky farmer

Even though I may be laid up for awhile,
that doesn't stop you.
Get out and explore the world around you.
Go to one of your favorite green places,
or seek a new one and make it your own.
Find a park or path, puddle or pond
and take up ownership; get to know your bioregion.
Breathe in deep; let the senses imbibe.

You do not have to go to the other side of the world
to find peace and harmony,
they reside somewhere near you.
After all, it's internal, a way of mind.
