I return once again to Forks of the River Wildlife Management Area in South Knoxville. I've been there many times the past two months watching the fields of sunflowers TWRA plants to attract birds.
The large yellow flowers are wilting; their seeds ripening. Goldfinches are having, if you pardon the pun, a field day.

Can't resist a pun myself! nice to see a Sunflower inverted.
She's going down, heavy with seed.
I'se knows that. was half serious, folk travel miles for Sunflowers, must be as many images recorded as there are off sunsets over sea and feathery waterfalls, I just look for the inverse of popular conception. I fall into the trap of reproducing what folk want. You didn't.
I love sunflowers, they are full of +ve energy and give lots of confidence.
I like the ones with brown center rather than the yellow ones.
