idle amusement

"We do not live for idle amusement. I would not run round a corner to see the world blow up."

— Henry David Thoreau

But, and I'm sure the Master of Walden would agree, I would walk to the other side of town to look for early signs of spring.

Join me for the annual Ijams' Woodcock Hunt, (No guns, just wide-eyed wonderment, please) Saturday March 3. To register call (865) 577-4717, ext. 110.

I knew I recognized Thoreau and had to take a peek at your entry. We just ran a piece on "The Asian Soul of Transcendentalism" here that you might fine an interesting read.

I wish there were "like" buttons on blogger like there are on Facebook. I often read--and "like" your entries, even though I usually don't leave a comment. Please keep them coming!
