Wow!! Local photographer Bob Howdeshell posted this wonderful photo of a juvenile bald eagle he found recently at Kyker Bottoms in Blount County near my home.
As Bob noted, "The crows were mobbing something so I headed in that direction only to be surprised as a young eagle flew by! I was fortunate that it landed in a tree that was close and I was able to get a few photos."

Awesome! I was just in Vermont this past weekend, at my parent's place, and there was a bald eagle (adult) circling our pasture! It's only relatively recently that they've returned to our section of the Connecticut River Valley, or at least, it's rare enough that we all run around shouting when it we see one. He was pretty far off, but we got one thrilling bank where the sun glinted off the white head and tail.
