swift rescued

A charcoal gray chimney swift fell past the open damper into the dark, sooty fireplace.

Rachael and Karen Sue chased the frightened bird around and around the living room until they were able to safely catch it with a dishcloth and take it outside.

But wait, the story does not end there.

For the complete account go to the farragutpress website: Swift spends night indoors.

Hello dear Aby. Thank you.

I hope you are well. It has finally gotten hot here. Temperatures in the 90s, but we are still getting a lot of rain.

What a lovely story - I followed the link and was pleased to read a happy ending. I now have a funny picture in my mind of your wife and daughter running mad round the house while you slept!

Omi. Yes. We had a big laugh about it the next morning when they told me the story. I was somewhat skeptical, thinking they were having fun with me because how could I sleep through such a thing? But the swift was still inside the garage.
